1. Natural Division: no oils or styling aides allowed! Trimming not allowed!

2. Groomed Division: Barbershop rimming and oils allowed. No curling irons allowed.

3. Styled: Styling aides and curling irons allowed to create awesome shapes & designs.

4. Facial Hair Wigs: Fake hair pieces that are natural and realistic.

5. Creative Beards: Real or Fake Beards decorated or created with outrageous materials, such as macaroni, yarn, or anything goes.

Anyone can enter! All you need to do is show up with hair on your face. The contest is open to all genders and accepts fake & creative categories for all age groups. Sizes of beards will all be judged in their own classes. For example, someone with a short business beard would not be competing against a 24" ZZ top beard,

Flamingo Party is a high-energy rock and party band known for lively shows that keep crowds on their feet. With a mix of rock favorites, dance hits, and a colorful stage presence, the band brings big sound and big fun to festivals, community events, and venues across North Florida. 🎸🦩

We invite strong community partners willing to lend their backing through several levels of sponsorship—Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Category Sponsors—each offering a chance to play a meaningful role in making this event a success.

For those who wish to take part directly in the day’s festivities, vendor opportunities will also be available.

Tables may be secured for $25, and a limited number of tent spaces will be offered for $50.

Our contest was first imagined by Ken Deemer, a man who believed that the citizens of Tallahassee ought to stand up and properly recognize the brave men and women who answer the call as first responders. These are the folks who run toward the smoke, the siren, and the danger—men and women whose commitment keeps this city strong.

With that spirit in mind, Ken joined forces with the fine people at Oyster City Brewing Company, the lively rock band Flamingo Party, the whiskered gentlemen of the North Florida Facial Hair Society, and the renowned Wolek's Famous Beard Championship to organize a benefit Beard and Mustache Contest worthy of the cause.

If you possess a beard of character or a mustache of distinction, then step forward and enter the contest. Take part with enthusiasm and good humor.

The event will feature vendors, fellowship, and fine company, and it will conclude with lively music and entertainment from the rock-and-roll outfit Flamingo Party. Come out, show your support for Tallahassee’s first responders, and enjoy a night of strong spirits, stout beards, and good American cheer. 🧔‍♂️🎸🇺🇸
